From the tar sands of Canada the crude flows through Minnesota and into Wisconsin. At Superior, WI the lines split. Endbridge Line 5 continues through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where it crosses the Straights of Mackinaw into lower MI. There is a proposal to replace that sixty four year old line with one of greater capacity. The original line would be abandoned.
Besides the environmental harm to our great lakes, there is another major reason to oppose this plan. Once physical infrastructure is built, it will be used. If this line is constructed it will be operated for generations, further retarding the growth of rational sustainable energy.
