DAPL 2.0? Enbridge Pipeline Threatens America’s Largest Lake
The Keyboard Campers Project is one of three Action Projects Camps A Rising uses to deliver gear and supplies to water protector camps. We often match our contributors purchases.
The Keyboard Campers Project delivers items to the camps people use daily. Here are some examples of items you may find on our Amazon Wish List. The products change based on need and season.
From the tar sands of Canada the crude flows through Minnesota and into Wisconsin. At Superior, WI the lines split. Endbridge Line 5 continues through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where it crosses the Straights of Mackinaw into lower MI. There is a proposal to replace that sixty four year old line with one of greater capacity. The original line would be abandoned.
Besides the environmental harm to our great lakes, there is another major reason to oppose this plan. Once physical infrastructure is built, it will be used. If this line is constructed it will be operated for generations, further retarding the growth of rational sustainable energy.
Direct and nonviolent action along pipeline 3 in Wisconsin.
The corporation Enbridge is burying pipe in Wisconsin and Canada. Their intent is to connect the tar oil line in Minnesota. That state has yet to approve the line. Bridge is confident they will plow through the Lakeland area of MN.
Camps A Rising supports the development of sustainable energy sources. We recognize that adding more of the same old, same old energy infrastructure simply retards the development of rational energy sources.
Camps A Rising and our partner organization, Water Is Life Movement are beginning another collaboration. We would like your help and ideas.
Our role in the movement is to gather needed gear and supplies for distribution to water protector camps. Water Is Life Movements role is to provide us with good solid information on the camps, where they are located, what they stand for, calendar of events and much more information.
Myself and Erica Williams-j from Water Is Life are asking you to join us in developing a list of inexpensive items that a water protector camp needs every day. Our intent is to offer the list in hope that visitors to camps will pick up a few of the necessities of camp life and gift them upon arrival. Camps A Rising will also use that list as the base of one of our Action Projects. Our Keyboard Camper Project uses web based Wish Lists for gathering gear and we will promote the purchases of supplies using the list you develop.
Both organizations will use our web resources to distribute the information. Please add your ideas to this thread as a list of items you know a camp consumes. Things like dish soap, mosquito repellent, toilet paper etc are what we are looking for.
And also, do take a look at our partners website. It is full of great information about our movement.
